I’d hazard a guess that Rhetta from MondoFoods was his first -serious- girlfriend.
Of course, it’s early in the morning and I’ve gotta rush off to work, so I can’t research any of the other questions…

Name the character:
29. "Cushlomochree!"
I don’t remember his name! He was a homburg-wearin’, cigar-smokin’ fairy godfather. Didn’t Syd Hoff draw that one?
30. "Zip . . . Pow!"
“Li’l’ angel!” Ignatz the Mouse.
31. "By George Y. Wells, you never forgets."
That’s a Walt Kelly-ism if I ever saw one; only character I remember uttering that is Albert the Alligator but I could be mistaken.
32. "You bring the duck."
J. Wellington Wimpy.
33. "Notary Sojak"
Smokey Stover. 1506 nix nix!
Good memory, except for the names.
“Cushlamochree!” was the standard exclamation of Jackeen J. O’Malley, the “homburg-wearin’, cigar-smokin’ fairy godfather,” as you say, in Crockett Johnson’s classic strip Barnaby.

Just a little mangled, you reversed Leprechauns and Elves. But close enough!

Yeah. All…six(?) of them. There were supposed to be 12, before Judy Lynn Del-Rey’s untimely death. <sigh> Judy Lynn Del-Rey was the best editor of an SF book line ever. I knew that during her reign I could by ANY DelRey book and it would be at worst a fun piece of fluff. It’s like she planned her line thinking “Hmmmm…would Fenris like this?”. Plus she reprinted quirky stuff that no-one else would (Thorne Smith, Barnaby, a run of Ruth Plumly Thompson OZ books). Boy, do I miss those days.
