Comics dot Com

What’s wrong? They’ve been down for three days.

Ok, so it isn’t just me then.

down for everyone or just me says that they’re up.

Maybe someone in Cafe Society will know.

It’s the Scrabble ™ Incident, isn’t it? How many times must I apologize?

Can you go there? I can’t from three PCs and two ISPs.

That’s goofy.

Not working for me.

Me neither.

I just forced a refresh on downforeveryoneorjustme and it says that comics.com is down. I haven’t been able to get to it for days either. If it weren’t for my daily calendar I’d be going through Pearls Before Swine withdrawal.

WHAT, WHAT, YOU’VE GOT PEARLS?!?!
Pony up! How!

Uh. Let me rephrase that – if it weren’t for my physical peel-off-one-day-at-a-time Pearls Before Swine 2009 calendar (with comics from 2006-7!) that I carried home from my office just in case comics.com/unitedmedia.com was down all weekend. I almost broke down and resubscribed to my newspaper!

Here are a couple of sources for recent Pearls from our friends at Google: http://community.livejournal.com/pearlswine has up to Saturday (scanned from a newspaper; no need to subscribe!) and http://news.yahoo.com/comics/pearls-before-swine has up to Friday. Lots of others seem to be complaining about the comics.com downtime too, so it’s definitely Not Just Us.

The folks on the comic strip newsgroup on Usenet (remember Usenet?) say that comics.com’s name servers are down, so traffic can’t get to the site.

Some subscriber sites, like the Houston Chronicle, are still getting their strips. They have quite a few, including Pearls Before Swine, but not Frazz or Arlo and Janis, dangit.

(Comics fans take note: the Chron allows you to build your own comics page and then bookmark it, so you can check back for daily updates. Offer not valid on Sundays.)

Wow, I’ve been blaming the shitty internet connection I have.

Their IP address is 64.58.142.26
Thanks, flodnak!

Except that I can’t do anything but login, since their name servers are down…:smack:

Yahoo’s Comics aren’t all working either-Frazz has been down since Friday’s strip, and several others are still stuck on Friday’s (do they get a feed from Comics.com I wonder, or is that just a coincidence).

I read my funnies on Yahoo! comics. Since my last fix on Friday September 4, I’ve been missing 9 Chickweed Lane, Frazz, Get Fuzzy, and Pearls before Swine. I have been getting regular updates on Brewster Rockit, Space Guy!, Candorville, Doonesbury, La Cucaracha, and Non Sequitur.

Me too. Glad it’s a global problem, although … three days is a long time without your comics!

I rarely start my day without them.
