I was researching an anatomy project at the time I read this, and my snort made several people around me scan the room for farm animals. Are enough people in Georgia anti-semitic enough that a random sampling will produce such a quote?

Are you sure she didn’t mean, “We feel the way Jews felt in WWII: not like humans”? Because in WWII, they were treated like they were not human. Perhaps the translation was imprecise. She did specify “in WWII”, as opposed to Jews, period.

Yes, I considered that, and it may well be true. Still, whether the quote comes from the woman or the reporter, I think the implication is pretty funny.
