Commercial from the 1984 (or '88?) Olympics

There was a series of commercials during the Olympics in 1984, or maybe 1988, for one of the big box stores like K-Mart or Wal-Mart. Each one ended with a man wandering through the aisles calling “Valerie? Vaaaal-erie?” There was a new one every day, and after a few days they added a woman wandering around calling a male name. On the last day, they finally crossed paths… but it turned out that they weren’t looking for one another. She found her little boy, but the guy was still searching for “Vaaaaalllll-erieeee?”

I’ve been trying to remember the name that the woman was calling, but it isn’t coming to me. This commercial is one of the very few things that isn’t on YouTube, as far as I’ve been able to find.

No one else remembers it? Ah, well, it looks like my nagging question may remain forever unanswered.

Valerie?

I just Googled “Valerie commercial 1984” and came across this. You might want to check back there in a couple days to see if anyone came up with anything.

I remember those! The man is always walking through k-mart calling “Vaaaalerie?”. It was like a tag line.

In the very last commerical, instead of the man, at the end there was a woman. And she said, just once, “Bob?”

It was hysterical in a minimalist way.

Sorry, but I don’t know where to find them. Looked on the Internet and didn’t find anything.

According to this, it was the 1988 Olympics. And GeorgeSlabotnik23 is correct, the man was Bob.
