Commercial songs you hate.

“I’m sticking with you, 'cos I’m made out of glue…”
Velvet Underground is it? They recently had that on some sort of paint ad in the UK. I hate that song.

I hate all the eBay songs. I am usually not a channel-flipper, but I can’t bear to watch those.

I used to like the song “My City was Gone” (I went back to Ohio/But my city was gone…). But Rush Limbaugh making it into his theme song? Ack.

I like them! I don’t like them after a little while, but at least I start out liking them. I enjoyed the first one best.

The Daisy Sour Cream commercial where they sing about the ‘Dollop of Daisy.’

And dear god, anything made by Old Navy. I wanted to murder someone over the ‘Standin on the corner, watchin all the guys go by.’

No one’s mentioned that “da da da da” song from Volkswagen a fear years back?

Never go to “The Most Happy Fella”, then…

Da Da Da (Ich lieb dich nicht, du liebst mich nicht) by Trio? I like that song! I’m playing the .mp3 right now in honor of you.

You know, I’m not sure what the song was. All you heard in the commercial was da da da da… da da da da… (two guys were picking up a couch from the side of the road, or something. there was at least one thread here about the possible gay subtext.)

I pretty much hate all the IPod commercial songs. dear lord though, that chick in the miniskirt… I’d listen to the Spice Girls if she was in the video. Of course knowing my luck, she’s either hideous or computer generated, hence the sillhouette

Ooh! I have one: “Love is in the air” … again, can’t picture the actual product…

Keys, keys, keys
Keys on Van Nuys!

Car dealership to the tune of some Beach Boys song…the lyrics have completely overtaken by brain and now I can’t even remember how the original song went, so I can’t tell you what it is.

You got me rockin and a rollin’
Wheelin’ and a dealin’
At key keys keys
Keys on Van Nuys.

A big dog doesn’t wanna chew a small bone
Any more than he wants to play the trombone
In fact if he could use the telephone
He’d call up and order this new Jumbone
It’s a really really big really big big bone
And that’s why they call it Jumbone!

I’m amazed no one posted it before…

“Anyway you want it, that’s the way you need it, anyway you want it.”

(Repeat four times during commercial.)

(Repeat commercial four times during break.)

(Repeat break four times during hour.)

The eBay comercial with the woman was great. She had a 35 inch vertical leap!

I think she is in “Hairspray”. Now this is sad: A ‘B’ movie becomes a Tony award winnimg musical. But she was great in it deom what I read.

Oh, I love the eBay commercials. Especially the one that is done to “That’s Amore.” That guy cracks my shit up–especially when he shows his “nice bling bling.”

I was in the supermarket today. I walked by the feminine hygiene products, and immediately the most evil song popped into my head: “She’s a Pearl Pearl, she’s a Pearl girl.” I hate that crapdangling song.

Fortunately, I found my way into the cleaning products aisle shortly thereafter, where the tampon song was replaced by “Mr. Clean Mr. Clean Mr. Clean Magic Eraser!” The Mr. Clean song isn’t exactly Cole Porter, but it’s a damn sight better than the Pearl tampon song.

Nothing sends me diving for the remote faster than those Swiffer ads where they’ve redone “Whip It.”

"it must be love, love love"x5000 AArgh evil nappy commercial:mad:

There’s a local car dealer commercial whose jingle is sung to Queen’s “We Will Rock You”. It goes:

(boom boom CLAP!)
(boom boom CLAP!)
We will, we will FINANCE YOU! (boom boom CLAP!)
No credit needed at COMB’S CAR CORRAL! (boom boom CLAP!)

(Repeat)

The people singing it are horribly off key, too. Just sets my teeth on edge every time I hear it.

I originally opened this thread to say something about that damn Tide commercial (the one with the “I can do better” song) but I see I am not alone. I have been a loyal user of Tide for years, but this commercial is seriously making me consider switching brands.

On the other hand, any chance to hear Merman makes me happy, so the Tide commercial is smile-time for me. It was just on, as a matter of fact, and I sang along…

I can’t take the “boy band” diaper commercial- these half-naked babies with vacant stares flailing on a stage, and this “hold you tight” music crooning in the background…
