Commercials that make me furious

Has anyone mentioned Peggy yet? From cancer centers of america?
At first it was nice, but after 100 times its not.
Peggy was told by a dr. (supposedly) she had 2 months to live and she went to the cancer center and her cancer left (implied because of the center, not so). Results are not typical, don’t expect this to happen it says in small caption.
hope is everything. :dubious:

Those stupid Tyson Chicken commercials where the kids stand up on furniture to declare how great their mother is for making chicken and assorted things.

Its not the worst ad on the TV, but that “paying with visa versus paying by cash” ad really bugs me because of the sheer Orwellian 1984 “There are five fingers” aspect to it.

Its trying to convince you that paying with cash is somehow slower than paying with Visa, whereas anyone who has ever tried to pay with credit/debit card knows its almost always significantly slower than paying with cash. That really bugs me, as they must know that, yet are trying to convince people to the contrary anyway. Theres something really creepy about that IMO.

That said you don’t see those particular ads much anymore so its possible they’ve seen sense.

I despise those commercials, for exactly the reasons you give here.

The stupid ones about the benefits of shipping stuff by rail instead of by truck --besides being repeated an order of magnitude more often than the maximum acceptable amount, they are utterly irrelevant to anybody’s spending decisions. If I had any clue how the stuff I see in the store got there, by now I’d specifically look for stuff shipped by truck out of pure irritation and spite.

McDonalds can almost always be added to these lists. The current one that annoys me is on the radio every day in the morning and I hear it several times. It is the one where the girl is drinking ice coffee and imagines herself as a cheer leader. Go Katie, Go Katie.
