I’m a non-smoker and I hate the anti-smoking commercials. They concentrate on negative reinforcement: how awful the consequences are, how nasty it is, et c. They really should know that positive reinforcement works so much better. Smokers already know the health dangers. What you need to emphasize are the benefits of not smoking. Positive reinforcement certainly works better when training dogs, I can tell you, and since were condition-able animals too I have to think that this would be a better approach.
I was looking at a website today - I forget which one - and pictures of toilets kept popping up in the right-hand corner.
Yes, toilets. The ad was for Lysol or something like that.
It was one of those annoying Internet pop-up ads where you have to look hard to find the “CLOSE X” because the ad pops right up on the page itself. I had to shut the page and not read the article because I was so grossed out.
Oh, I think those are hilarious. It makes me want to make up new ones. It could be a thread in the game room.
When you eat spinach, you get spinach in your teeth.
When you get spinach in your teeth, you buy dental floss.
When you buy dental floss, you go to the convenience store.
When you go to the convenience store, it gets held up.
When it gets held up, you are taken hostage.
When you are taken hostage, you are shot point-blank in the head.
Don’t eat spinach.
I love those commercials.
“Don’t have a grandson with a dog collar” makes me laugh every time
The new Pop-Tart commercial. What. The. Hell?
Little, uhm, gremlins (?) change colors and strut to “I’m Too Sexy.” It looks like the orangish one has a green codpiece.
How was this even pitched? Who are they targeting?
the god damn screaming pig… i change it as soon as it comes on… i don’t even know what they’re advertising
I would never pay their rates but it’s not reaming.. There are thousands of places to borrow money people that borrow from these places have a history of stealing the (not paying their bills).. So the company has to spread the risk with higher rates. Everyone that does pay is also paying for the people that don’t. I and salaries, and taxes, office space, and the list goes on.
Hey, you! You with the floating DVR conflict screens! Here’s a great question: why not just get another DVR?
They get one DVR from comcast (the cable company). Those DVR’s can only download two programs at one time (plus show a third recorded program). Live TV counts as one program, so if you are watching live, you can only record one channel.
I think if you wanted more simultaneous recordings, it would take more than a second DVR, but a second account. So double your cable bill.
I do not know how TiVo works, or if that changes things. But it’s definitely cheaper to get Dish Network than to get two cable accounts.
Doesn’t seem like anyone is watching live in these. They’re either in the bathroom for their morning routine and complaining about the screen following them or lying awake at night and complaining about the screen.
TiVo doesn’t use cable equipment so theortically allows additional simultaneous programming and storage space.
Hell, VCRs still exist. They could get one of those and a cable box just for recording on tape. 'Course, these people seem like the type who would forget to ensure the box is on the channel they want to record and get the wrong program; that is, if they even manage to get the VCR to record.
