Was that the sound of a thousand heads exploding during Annie’s song and dance?
Sometimes I feel like they try and cram too much in too fast, and I end up missing half of what’s going on. The tone, the theme, the quick jokes, the plot…it makes my head spin. And it all seems a bit forced. Tonight was one of those nights.
But again, Annie’s song and dance…until it hit the point of diminishing returns, of course.
But … the Carol of the Dean! Or, as you may call it, Merry Merry Merry Merry Changmas!
I laughed out loud several times, but then I watch Glee, too. The kids’ chorus convincing Shirley to start singing was priceless, with the lyrics about public schools and the Constitution. Troy and Abed’s rap was pretty awesome as well.
And Britta’s tree costume? Yow-zah.
Is this the last Community till midseason? I hadn’t thought about when the end might actually happen, but when the voices swelled to sing “see you after regionals” at the end, it made me think this might be it. Booooo!
I’d heard earlier in the season that the Community writers were hoping to do a musical episode, but I wasn’t expecting a Christmas horror Glee parody musical. Cool, cool, cool.
Wish they were a little harsher with glee. Maybe about about the creepiness of being obsessed with the sex lives of fictional teenagers. No offense to all of the fat 43 year old women here who like that sort of thing though. Er, no, wait, offense.
I do like the running glee bashing throughout the show’s history though. Just figured that meant they’d savage them more here.
Shirley mumbling “that… that’s what they do” about about public schools and succumbing to the children was great.
