Computer and network help, please.

If you didn’t figure it out from the title, I have a problem.

I’m running a P4 laptop with built-in ethernet over a college network.

Before March Break, it was running perfectly. I brought it home for March Break, and hooked it up to my parents DSL. during this period, it was connected and disconnected from the network frequently (broken network jack, makes the connection quite sketchy. It’s well anchored now)
All was hunky-dorie until I came back from March Break.
Now, when I hook up to the college LAN, I get all internet servers for the first 10 minutes, and after that, I can only get certain servers, which are the servers that I’ve already been visiting (They’re updating, so it’s not just showing me the cache) But I can’t access any others.

When I restart, I can get all them again, but the problem repeats itself.

I’ve tried everything I can think of, but I can’t seem to fix it.

Anyone heard of this problem before? Any ideas?

Check your internet options settings.

Perhaps at school you need to use a proxy server and this was removed while at home?

When you say internet servers I take it you mean Web sites right?

Check out whatever settings guide you were provided with back in September and make sure your settings match up.

Recreate your internet connection from scratch.

Check for spyware and worms too.

I had already tried resetting everything, and starting over from scratch.

And I always keep my anti-virus and anti-spywares active and up to date.
I just disabled my network card, then re-enabled it. It seems to be working for now.

Thanks for the suggestions.
