Computer game w/ trident-shape logo?

Please help me wrack my brain…which popular video game has a trident-shaped logo as its symbol? I’m having a total brainfart right now. :frowning:

Psi 5 Trading Company. Yay retrocomputing!

Quake?

Are you thinking of Quake?

Maybe the brand logo for Borderbund.

I have merged the two threads with identical OPs. fuzzypickles, please just post such questions once, OK? (I’m assuming you got impatient and hit the SUBMIT button again?) No prob, just want to use the opp’ty to remind folks that once is enough.

How weird, I didn’t realize I’d done that. (After writing the OP, I checked my computer an hour later and the message was still in Preview Mode, and assumed I’d completely spaced on actually pressing the submit button. I’ve been doing that a lot lately…) Sorry for the trouble, I’ll be more careful from now on.

No, not quake, the prongs are straight, not round, and the two on each side jut forward a little more than the center prong. I’ll try to upload a picture of what I’m thinking of later in the day.

Moving to the Game Room from GQ.

Old, new? Genre, platform?

Unfortunately I can’t recall any reliable details about the game itself – I’d assumed it was Quake, too, but unless the game used to use a different logo, they look nothing alike. To complicate things further, it’s entirely likely that it’s not from a video game at all, but it seems like it must be.

The symbol in my head is more like a cross between a pitchfork and a trident, actually, with the two side prongs slightly bent and jutting forward. Sort of shaped like a demon’s claw, jutting upward. As I said, I’ll do what I can to post a picture by tonight – that will aid matters, I’m sure.

Heretic?

Bioforge?

Not a video game but Magic the Gathering has started using a sort of trident logo. You can find it on the side of a headphone on his link:

My first thought was the logo for Trident Games. But now that “side prongs curled forward like a claw” description does sound familiar, I can’t place it though.

Missed the edit window. I was thinking of Heretic II. Which ultrafilter already posted.

VERY close – it’s essentially that exact design, but upside down and without the cross.

Never mind…I figured it out.

You know how I said that two prongs were more crooked? And the Heretic logo was nearly perfect, except the prongs were upside-down? Well, I just figured out it’s not from a video game at all, it’s a heavy metal band logo. In fact…it was Prong.

I’ll just go stick my head in a bucket of ice now. :smack:
