I swear I’ve seen it somewhere before, but can’t place it. I know it looks somewhat like the Star Wars Rebel leader symbol, but I think it’s something besides that…

Is it on top of a chocolate? Could be a cream filled.
Looks familiar, I think I saw it as part of an ad for a video game very recently. If I see it again I’ll grab it. Where did you get the image?
I noticed it as part of the patterning on an illustration of a dinosaur; I don’t know if it was an intentional thing or not, and it’s just nagging at me that it’s too familiar to likely be a coincidence.
It looks like a lot of symbols for a Phoenix
Agree. Stylized Phoenix.
Looks a bit like the logo for the game Quake.
I think it’s an upside-down tonsil.
While there are tonsils in that picture, the dangly thing is the uvula.
Ooh, now I know! Thanks

Ruger logo?
Was it painted on Luke Skywalker’s helmet?
Japan Airlines’ ill-advised attempt at ice box cookies?
So, I talked to the artist who created the illustration, and he was of course highly amused, but says he didn’t intend for it to be a reference to anything in particular; he was just going for an off-center eyespot-type of patterning. And I decided it looked closest to the Star Wars Rebel Alliance symbol after all.
