In general I’m not a big fan of MMOs, but lately I’ve been playing this one called Elsword Online. It’s an mmorpg, but instead of being the classic “WoW” type of game it’s sidescrolling/action, and of course it has the normal features of an mmo, such as guilds, dungeons and whatnot.
It’s free to play, and you can purchase stuff in-game, mostly costumes and stuff, as far as I can tell its NOT Pay to Win. the website is www.elswordonline.com and the install is about 2.3 gigs.
Steam is having it’s Fall sale right now. Maybe check it out… there’s bound to be a ton of stuff you might want to try for cheap:
As for game suggestions:
MMO’s - Star Wars the odl republic is pretty good, and I believe it’s free to play up until a certain point now. Also Guild Wars 2 is free to play and people seem to like it a lot.
I’d recommend path of excile as a free to play action/loot RTS and Torchlight 2.
Strategy, you have the Total war games, if you don’t have a decent gaming PC, the old ones should still work fine. The original rome and Medieval 2 should work fine. There’s also Endless Space, Civ V, FTL, Fallen Enchantress, Magic 2014 (card game), and Xcom enemy unknown as possible starting points.
Other places to find deals on PC games: Green Man gaming, GOG.com, and Amazon. Most will provide a Steam key to unlock the game on Steam.
