My computer uses Windows XP, and I BT Internet Broadband, anyways my computer has now started to open a box and it says ‘done’ within it or ‘dwn’ I always press X as it could be a virus, but what the hell is it? It keeps popping up just saying those two words.
Can anyone help me?
Sounds to me like you’ve already got either a virus or some nasty piece of scumware. By the time the box pops up it probably doesn’t matter much what you press. I’d recommend a good anti-virus program, as well as adaware and spybot. A firewall like zonealarm is probably a good thing too. I don’t know how well XP’s firewall works.
Also, you could have someone hacking into your system and running programs on it without your knowledge. If you have microsoft file and print sharing enabled on your network, disable it. That’s an easy way into your system. If you have guest accounts you might want to disable those, and make sure that the accounts you do have are protected by passwords that aren’t easily broken.
