So last night I was just browsing along on Chrome like usual, and Chrome hung up, not unusual, but it usually fixes itself after a few seconds, and kills the unresponsive page. But then the whole computer just completely froze up and I couldn’t move the mouse or anything. So I just had to turn it off and then back on. So it came up fine. And then I opened up AIM and it worked fine. Then I opened Chrome again, and it worked for a minute, then the computer crashed again and I got a scary blue screen with error text, then it reset itself automatically. Then I turned it back on, and I opened AIM and it worked, and then went to bed, and in the morning it was fine. AIM was still up fine. And then I opened chrome and before it even loaded the home page it crashed the computer again and restarted. Now I am scared to open Chrome because Google must be conspiring against my computer. On Firefox now and it works fine. Has Chrome turned evil or is my computer dying.
Does Chrome keep trying to bring up the last page you were on when it closed/crashed?
I would try uninstalling Chrome, downloading the latest, and installing that.
It had the “click here to restore your old pages” button but I didn’t click it. It was just trying to get to google when it crashed.
uninstalled and reinstalled chrome and it’s working fine now.
Good. For future reference, that is always the first thing you should try. Well, first after restarting the program and rebooting.
