Computer question

I love to play Hearts on pogo.com…I’m playing several games …perhaps 30 minutes worth…and all of a sudden in the middle of the game, I’m unable to pass cards or play and no matter what button I click, the game freezes on me. I am unable to send a message and I don’t know why. Does it have something to do with java? In summary, what causes it and how can I prevent it from happening again. My computer otherwise works perfectly.

Is this a Mac, PC? Or IE or Netscape? At any rate, if its IE try Netscape.

Sounds to me like you got disconnected from their server. Don’t know what would cause this - if it’s an isolated incident, it’s prob’ly just server hiccup on their end (the pogo servers are pretty darn busy). If it happens regularly, um, maybe it’s not?

Server = earthlink
Browser= netscape
Search engine= yahoo
personal computer

The freezing of the game I’m playing with 3 others occurs out of the clear blue sky. One game may be over and its time to deal another hand and all of a sudden, I cannot move anything…the 3 others wait for me to continue play but I cannot. I try to send message but that doesn’t work either.

If is the pogo server, why just me and not the others I’m playing the game with? (I know I’m not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition but I think I got the message across).

[hijack]I don’t think you need to worry about ending your sentences with a preposition. Fowler’s Modern English Usage says that this is “One of the most persistent myths about prepositions in English,” and points out that there are many situations in which it is perfectly acceptable to conclude with a prepostion.

There is a (possibly apocryphal) anecedote about Winston Churchill regarding this type of usage. Apparently, on reading a sentence that made a clumsy attempt to avoid a prepositional ending, Churchill wrote in the margin: “This is the sort of English up with which I will not put.” See this website.[/hijack]

You should try IE, you can use it along with netscape or both at the same time if you want. I do. some earlier netscape versions arent as java compatible.
