Hullo all,
I recently got a new computer - a Dell - with which I purchased a 4-speaker surround sound speaker setup. (Nothing special, just $100 or so.) They are Altec Lansing ADA745s.
Anyway, I’m not getting any bass out of the subwoofer. If I place my head within a few inches of the subwoofer, I can hear a muted thump, but that is about it.
I’ve tried placing the subwoofer all around the area, with no luck.
I’ve tried the Dell Support Site, the Altec Lansing support site, and friends to no avail. I’m sure my music is bassy-enough (Rock, Techno, etc) On my old Dell Computer, the two speakers (3x3 inch) + subwoofer (which is smaller than my new one) can shake nearby objects easily.
I upgraded the speakers from the default selection in order to have better sound, not worse. 
Anyone have any suggestions?
