Which, okay, it was kinda going in a different direction.
But why is this thread still going? With over 100 posts?
Ask the guy who used to frequent hookers!
Everyone is asking how he went about picking up hookers and various tactics. Also, some were asking ‘were you afraid you’d ever get caught?’ kinda talk, indicating that this is something that is definately illegal. Personally, I’m fine with the thread being open still, but if the other thread was crossing the —line—, this one is crossing major borders. How many people learned to pick up hookers in this thread? Any person who is interested in picking up a hooker can feel more knowledgable and confident because of this thread. And I think most would agree that it fosters or promotes illegal activity. The rule also states, “in our opinion.” If you can’t see that this thread is different than “ask the pot head”, how can you be trusted with forming opinions? Clearly these threads are one in the same. Not trying to be harsh here, but come on, folks talking about smoking out of apples and hookawhatevers isn’t is bad as the hooker thread practically being a guide for people to pick up hoes.
I’m not going to bother to wade through the threads, so there may be one or more specific reasons in addition to this, but…
We’re generally more vigilant about drug threads than other kinds of threads because we have the word “dope” in our name. Basically, a not-small number of people find us through a search and basically assume we’re some kind of 4:20 forum or something. Because we’re not, and because we’re extremely dedicated to not becoming one, we keep a closer eye on drug threads than other kinds of threads. We have extremely little concern about being overwhelmed by prostitutes and their johns, for example.
I recall that the hooker thread was monitored pretty closely. Questions such as “where is the best place to find hookers in Chicago?” were not allowed. Also, the hooker thread was about someone’s past activity. An “Ask the recovered pot addict” thread might have been allowed.
I’m not a Mod, of course, but I just wanted to point out some distinctions between the two threads.

I can’t ever imagine hookers wanting to their loos onto the SDMB, mind you, but I do concede it’s probably a good rule.
After all, can you imagine the amount of crap we’d see if toilets started posting?
Y’know, if we had the free range prostitutes on here, we could have our own cottage industry and some entertainment as well.
We need to be forward thinking here.
