His accomplishments? Gorsuch… Gorsuch… Gorsuch…
That’s about it. Otherwise, Trump’s Administration has been the train wreck I expected.

Even that decision was made for him by Republican leadership. He was told whom to appoint and did as he was told. As a reward, he continues to get two scoops of ice cream.
I suspect that Obama feels a certain amount of shame at not being able to carry HRC over the finish line, in spite of her poor campaign. He probably thought of himself as a more talented surrogate / spokesperson / campaigner prior to November 2016 than he does now. Still, I’d expect a man that has been described as “cerebral”, “dignified”, “professorial”, and “aloof” to be capable of exercising the minimal level of self-restraint required to not start a fist fight with a septuagenarian during a few brief meetings. If he deserves a NPP for that, what does Melania deserve? Sainthood?
No. That’s what the money is for.
I thought you guys were saying Trump didn’t have any money?
Because of the rate he spends it on casinos, hookers and blow.
On a more serious note, Obama was the best advocate/surrogate the Clinton campaign could have ever hoped for. Unfortunately, HRC has a unique gift for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
We’ve been saying he’s not as rich as he claims, not that he has no money.
Ahhhh, so still rich? OK. Thanks for clarifying.
Yep, he’s still got that going for him.
Let’s see…made a couple of ME tours in which, rather than trying to strongarm Muslim nations into line, he appealed to them in the name of democracy and peace (uh-oh, there’s that word again). He negotiated (along with your hated Hillary) an agreement to limit Iran’s nuclear proliferation. He would’ve captured bin Laden if it was possible, but one way or the other he got him, something Georgie-pie couldn’t accomplish in 7 years. (And I think Bush’s lying or ‘hopeful exaggeration’ to the world community about WMD’s pretty much aced him out of any Peace Prize consideration.)
On the other side of the coin, how many allies has Trumpy alienated in six months? Of course, he did fecklessly bomb a Syrian air base and preside over the dropping of the biggest bomb ever. And lost an aircraft carrier. Good for him. If there was a Nobel Piece Prize, he should get it.
Yeah, I forgot about Qaddafi until after the fact.
I’m unequivocally and unapologetically a supporter and admirer of BA. But you have to admit that the NPP he received was in breathlessly rushed aspiration rather than actual accomplishments. I doubt very much he’d be in the running today, given his track record of authorized military actions over the 8 years of his presidency.
Yeah, it’s sort of hard to squander the amount of money that he inherited. He’s not THAT incompetent.
Thanks, this was the point I was getting at, but you said it more eloquently than I did.
@Johnny Ace,
Thanks for the answer. I think there’s plenty there that could be disputed, but I appreciate you sharing your thoughts, so I’ll leave it alone.
I did, in the post where I initially brought up the NPP. I wasn’t quite as explicit as that, though.
Nah, we’ve dropped two other bombs which were each more than a thousand times bigger.
I’d genuinely love to know the answer to the OP. I work in a highly pro-trump office, and yet, when I ask this question, all I get is “he’s not Hillary”. Or “he’s better than Obama”. Even his followers are defining trump in comparison to Obama. Has trump no existence outside of comparisons to others?
Correct. That is the only measure of success for the GOP these days - they are not Democrats. McConnell says so. Neener-neener.
Sorry, conventional bomb.
