Conservatives - who will you vote for in the 2020 POTUS election?

Conservatives only poll - Velocity suggested in ATMB thread recently that we should have the ability to limit responses to threads to certain groups of people. So here’s my attempt. Let’s see how it goes.

Conservative posters, who will you vote for in the 2020 POTUS election?

  1. Republican - Trump
  2. Democratic - Biden
  3. Libertarian - Jorgensen
  4. Green - presumed Hawkins
  5. Constitution - Blankenship
  6. write-in

Gateway error messed up getting poll in place

Should we respond here or are you going to start a new thread with a poll?

Go ahead and respond

I’m actually a right leaning moderate, but around here that counts as conservative. At the moment it’s a toss up between Libertarian and writing myself in.

President Trump

The poll allows for an anonymous answer to your question.

I’m not posting my answer in the thread.

I don’t know how to break this to you, but you are anonymous.

He’s talking about his message board persona. If you consider how the board community reacts to you is a potential issue in how you participate on the board, it’s a reasonable point. Some are more reticent to identify their leanings that others, nothing wrong with that.

This.

Ok, gotcha. Thanks.

Well, I’ll play: Former Libertarian who used to vote Republican (believing that a Lib or Green vote wouldn’t do much). But I can’t vote for Trump, so I decided I’d vote for whoever opposed him. Wish I could vote for Warren or Sanders, but I’ll gladly vote for Biden.

To me it’s a question not just of who do you like better, or even whose politics do you agree with more. But who will be better for the people of this country.

Dupe.

I swear I’m only hitting Submit once…!

I think my personality is conservative. But I don’t identify with American political conservatism.

Biden.

Biden.

Although if it was Sanders vs. Trump, I’d probably write in Jeb Bush.

My primary vote had more of a chance of counting than my general vote will. Nevertheless I’ve been putting off the decision to throw away my vote to Democrats versus third-party.

The last time I voted for a third-party candidate, three things happened:

  1. The good guy lost.
  2. The lesser evil lost.
  3. The greater evil spent eight years in the White House.

Not going to do that again.

Unless Biden makes a hard right turn, Trump is going to be the lesser evil.

Have not decided yet, but I am 80% leaning toward Trump.

Third party, just like 2016. Back then I wrote in Evan McMullin as a write in candidate. Now I don’t know. Maybe Justin Amash if he runs. I might have gone Libertarian but now this pandemic has fully demonstrated the flaws of Libertarian ideology.

Biden, with enthusiasm. I might have a different view in 2024 but he’s a good man and that’s all the country needs for the next four years unless someone can pull the Greatest President Ever out of a hat to solve unsolveable problems like COVID and racism. Since that man or woman doesn’t exist, a good man will do for the time being.
