I believe the Indonesian football match incident deserves an honorable mention in this thread. The police were faced with some brawling in the stadium, so … they deployed tear gas. Inside a stadium. The deaths that occurred in the stadium were not literally because of unruly fans, they were caused by panicking constabulary who were not well trained enough to resolve a troublesome situation in a sensible way.
Also, tear gas is illegal to use in martial combat, so why should there not be a civil ban on it as well? I continue to assert that guns make people stupid, whether they deliver small chunks of metal or large canisters of gas.
While there was no civilian involvement, this certainly doesn’t help the “Blue Lives Matter” contingent:

While this guy should probably have already been in prison for his actions, at least he’s no longer an officer of the law and some punishment was rendered.
