Conundrum: how to make yourself eat after food poisoning...

It is actually quite mild - also very white in color :slight_smile: Often doctors tell you to start eating rice as part of the BRAT diet for stomach troubles.

Put the rice into the pot.

It sounds like it might be good, if it was premade. But the last time I had a stomach thing, the very thought of handling raw chicken meat would have not been pleasant.

I passed the time by watching whatever TV shows I had recorded on my DVR. I skipped right over Kitchen Nightmares.

Like others above, if I go too long without eating, the low blood sugar makes me nauseous all on its own and gets vicious circle-y. Saltines are my savior there, starting with just one. Really just the edges of just one at first. You know the little crenellations they have on two sides?

I once spent most of two weeks in the hospital on a clear-liquids-only diet. Beef/chicken/veggie broth, jello and apple juice was about it. It was heaven, after having had a gastric bypass setup that pumped everything that entered my stomach back up a tube running out my nose.

Bananas and Bread are what I eat when feeling sick. Been hungover a lot recently so there have been quite a few days where those were my main foods. Hope you feel better.

It’s not? What happened to it?

I’ll let you know in the future. I think I’ve got an hour before the spin art starts. Damn!

Looks like once again I’m going to have to find a new poison dealer, this shit I have now is just weak.

Hi Ogre, I know you’re in a college town, but very far from me so I don’t know what you have.

If you can, go find some pho. It’s Vietnamese noodle soup. Lots of nice salty broth you can make as hot as you like with sauce, but the broth itself is fairly complex in flavor. Easy rice noodles and tofu, chicken or beef of your choice. So, some carbs, salt and protein, with enough flavor to make it interesting.

If you can’t, try getting one of those Lipton soup packets that makes four servings, and add a beaten egg to it (egg drop soup, basically).

Like I said, I normally keep a few food containers of it in the freezer, so all I need to do is gimp my way to the fridge and put one into the microwave [or convince someone to do it for me]

All better!

I had a brief flirtation with saltines, then yogurt (bad idea!), and eventually worked my way up to regular food.

Sorry about this. I was feeling a bit sorry for myself at the time. Actually, that seems to be becoming a habit with me in MPSIMS.

Woot!

That’s-a what it’s for-a.
