Cookies & Cream Twix

Those were briefly available when I was in college in the early 1990s, and they were really good - vaguely Oreo flavored. A convenience store down the stress has them once again, and they’re every bit as good as I remember them.

Just saying.

Like I don’t weigh enough already.

Yeah, they were good.

Burpo, that’s what I thought when I saw them. I finally caved and bought some, and honestly don’t regret it at all.

That’s skinny-people talk.

My go-to was “Bounty” bar. They’re not distributed in the US any more, :frowning: but occasionally they turn up at specialty stores. “Mounds” was OK, but dark chocolate, “Almond Joy” almonds clash with the coconut, even though milk chocolate. “Bounty” has coconut with milk chocolate and I think the coconut has more oil left in than the other two. And now I got a hankerin’.

I remember those, and that I binged on them for a few weeks when they were first available. What I also remember is that they weren’t available for very long, alas.

(And, now that I’m diabetic, I really should avoid the reintroduced ones. )

For the past 2 years they have sold a plastic container shaped like a wine bottle filled with chocolates. I believe it’s deemed Celebrations. Mini Bounty bars are part of the mix and since there’s sold from Christmas through Valentine’s you can probably get one now. Riteaid had them in a flyer last week and Wal-Mart and Amazon have sold them too. Looks like Wal-Mart has them now too https://www.walmart.com/ip/CELEBRATIONS-Chocolate-Valentine-s-Day-Variety-Mix-Candy-Bars-9-52-Oz-Champagne-Bottle-DOVE-TWIX-SNICKERS-BOUNTY-MILKY-WAY/649685991?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222222000000000&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=e&wl1=o&wl2=t&wl3=10352200394&wl4=pla-1103028060075:aud-808058286&wl12=649685991_0&wl14=celebrations%20chocolate&veh=sem&msclkid=45d91c1bbda21892f11842343f6a9cbc

Or dark.

Thanks, elfkin, you’re my hero! The other candies are a decent selection, too. An expedition/experiment is in order; stay tuned.

Did you see the other versions? A mango variety and a pineapple? I’m intrigued as to how cherry and coconut complement each other. Maybe someone from Down Under will jump in and tell us how the cherry/coconut/choco combo is.

I mentioned these on Facebook, and a friend (IRL as well) replied that she saw an ad for Twix with dark chocolate and mint filling. Those sound really good too.

Kit-Kat currently has a mint variety with dark chocolate.

Come to Canada, where they are plentiful.

Be warned, though, that once you try a Coffee Crisp (available only in Canada), you may never want a Bounty bar again.

You Great White Northerners are sure making it hard to avoid Canada. I keep having visions of Mounties finding a burpsicle in a snowbank–Bounty bar in one lifeless fist, Coffee Crisp in the other.

There’s a local store (in Michigan) that stocks Coffee Crisps. If you’ve ever tried Malteasers you’ll never want a Whopper again.

Bountiful, even.

ducks and runs

I was in middle school when these came out and the student council or some group sold candy and chips (why did they allow this?) in the lunch room. A bag of Munchos, Sour Cream & Onion Lays, a single Cookies n Creme Twix, and a single Chocolate Fudge Twix was my lunch just about every day. All for the low, low price of $1. I think I actually liked the Chocolate Fudge ones better than the CnC.

Have you tried the malted milk balls from Cracker Barrel? They’re about the size of a human eyeball and the chocolate is about 1/4 inch thick all around. Sadly, you only get about a dozen per bag. Sucking the choco off the malted part is a RUSH.

I just want Fry’s Turkish Delight.

Now you got me thinking of Bonomo Turkish Taffy. It’s been years since I’ve had any.

We can get the default Bounty and the dark Bounty. I want a cherry Bounty. I think I will be waiting for a while, or I need to just add a glaceed or dried cherry to a dark chocolate Bounty. That might work.
