Cool New Screen Names: Intriguing Question Mark!

Gee, I hope explaining it doesn’t ruin it for you, but “Qadgop the Mercotan” was created by E. E. “Doc” Smith in a parody of his own work, the Lensman sci-fi series.

And I get a kick out of a bunch of names here. Struuter, SwimmingRiddles, Ssskuugii, and a dozen others that I can’t recall all tickle my fancy. It doesn’t hurt that they’re all wimmen, either!

Well, thanks Ralf! Gotta say that I didn’t expect to see myself on this list. So you’ve brightened my day

I was happy to see that Chance the Gardener has joined us.

Although I suppose I should be addressing him as Chauncey Gardiner.

Lola Granola. I know this person (m/f?) is not new–some 500 posts, actually–but I am a huge fan of Berkely Breathed (author of the comics “Bloom County”, “Outland”, and “The Meadows”[among others, possibly?]), and, for those of you who don’t know/remember, in “Bloom County”, Lola Granola was Opus’ girlfriend.

Makes me consider changing my screen name to Kushy Bimbolino…

You got it on the nose, VV. The story is here.

‘Little, Big’ is without question the single most beautiful book I have ever read. Gotta visit Edgewood again real soon. See if old George still has any of that fine hashish left for me.

You’re welcome, Struuter! With that name, I get a mental image of you in a Vegas show-girl costume… long, long feathers in a headpiece that could be used to clean chandeliers, about two quarts of strategically placed rhinestones and glitter, red spiked heels, and a million-dollar smile! Of course, you’re probably a soccer mom in Des Moine, right?
