Coolest retweet of the day

None of the eight patients still being treated at University Medical Center in El Paso agreed to meet with Trump when he visited the hospital

Another Too good to be true story…but it checks out. The WAPO is saying the same thing.

Keep it up America!

That’s good. Smart, too. I’ve read that Trump’s (Oh, his wife was with him too!) visit and photo op with victims at the Ohio hospital were being used for a campaign video.

I’m not sure I believe it. That would imply that Trump asked their permission and didn’t just barge right into their hospital rooms.

Lots of places won’t stand up to a bully, but a hospital will. If it’s the hospital’s policy that nobody gets to visit a patient unless the patient agrees, then nobody will visit the patient unless the patient agrees. Not even the President of the United States.

Do you think a doctor saying “no” would stop Trump, or even slow him down?

A doctor? Maybe not.

A nurse (or better yet, a head nurse)? I wouldn’t put my money on Trumpankhamen.

Eight people with holes and pain drugs in them have better judgment than I do.

“Trumps is here ferreals? Oh by all means send him in, I’d LOVE to have a chat!” And that’s how I get arrested.

That lying fuck will still claim they love him and treated him like a rock star, and his base will call the injured a bunch of lying crisis actors, just like every other time.

This explains the extra angry tweetarrhea of the past 24 hours.

Or the Secret Service. Some nurses are BIG with devastating glowers.

Heh. My niece is a nurse in the Navy. Lieutenant. She’s also very into this new Cross Fit thing and lifting weights. Very feminine but also puts the B in Buff. I have about 30 years on her. While I’m a big guy, I don’t work out. We jokingly talked about an arm wrestling match. Never happened. We are both afraid we might win, and we are both afraid we might lose.

Having spent a good bit of my time growing up in parochial schools and hospitals — my father, on whom be peace, was a doctor — there are two things which, at age 71, will still reduce me to a quivering mass of jelly: a nun reaching for a ruler and a glowering nurse.

I’ve mentioned it before, but thirteen years ago my daughter spent a couple of months in hospital with severe ulcerative colitis. Part of that was spent in the isolation ward because she’d picked up a respiratory infection, and while she was there some doctor decided she should be discharged “to recover at home.” A nurse came in while I was trying to comfort her, and asked what was the matter — and for the first time in my life I actually say a human being’s hackles rise. Suffice it to say she had the order countermanded within ten minutes.

(And everyone with a lick of sense knows that nurses run the medical profession. They only suffer doctors to stay around to sign prescriptions.)

(Apologies for the digression. We now return to the regularly scheduled Pitting.)

Ask Nurse Wubbles, kudos to her for standing up for her patient.

Well, why not? It worked with teen beauty-queens.

I just had a mental image of Trump being dragged out of hospital room by his ear by a nurse. Hmmmmmm! I think I will meditate on that image for some time.

By instinct and experience, I strongly prefer female persons for medical attention. If that makes me a sexist pig…well, oink. Oink oink.
