When I saw the video of this on the news, I was pissed off, now after reading the story, I’m really fucking pissed. Apparently, while traveling on vacation, a man left his wallet on a gas pump. Some halfwit calls the cops and
They stop the car, order the family out of the car and start slapping handcuffs on them. The wife asks the cops to close the door so that the dog doesn’t get out of the car. They don’t do it, the dog jumps out of the car, and as you can clearly see in the video, the dog runs away from the cops, only to be shot and killed by one of the cops!
Nice job there, guys. Not only do you pull someone over on the basis of totally inaccurate phone call, but you then proceed to arrest them, and shoot their dog in front of them! I think we need to add a note about that on the “Welcome to Tennessee” signs at the borders that tourists can expect to be arrested and have the family pet shot in front of them.
(Anybody want to guess what the largest single industry in Tennessee is? Can you say “Tourism?” I knew you could.)
Obviously, any car with money flying out of it just has to be fleeing a robbery. Why would they put that in the movies if it wasn’t reality? Tennessee’s finest are at our service!
And how sneaky of the “robbers” to disguise themselves as a family with kids and dog in tow! Hell, we all know that more and more robbers are ditching those worthless guns as means of self-defense and arming themselves with boxer dogs!
And they wonder why some people don’t like cops.
I first heard the story as they were telling it on the news this morning… and I was like… Ok… I understand why a cop would shoot a dog runnig out of a car…
at the time… I thought it was maybe a pitbull or something… but no… it was a tiny little dog that did not show any type of threat…
I am not really an animal lover or anything, but come on… how do you just shoot a dog? that was sick…
Watch the video again. The shotgun appears to be pointed down at more than a 45 degree angle when the officer fired. At most, the dog was some 4-6 feet away, I’d guess.
Me too. I refuse to use/boycott RealPlayer due to the spyware/scumware embedded in it. I guess I’ll just have to wait until a version for Windows Media Player is available.
I’m unsure what you mean here. Yes, the LA riots were a gross overreaction. Other than that, how can you “blow out of proportion” four cops beating up a defenseless, unarmed man?
"With the knowledge I had at that time, I was so limited that I felt I did what I had to do," Hall said.
That pretty much sums it up. A trained moron with license to use deadly force.
