When were corks (the stoppers that stop stopped containers) "invented," and how are they made?their invention is lost in history. They are made with the bark of the cork oak tree which grows mainly in the Iberian peninsula.

Cork is the bark of the cork tree, which grows in Spain and other spots around the Mediterranean. The stoppers are made by just cutting this material into the right shape.
