"Corner Gas" is a cartoon now.

Just a heads up as I know we have some fans of the original show.

I haven’t watched any episodes yet, but I plan to this evening.

It’s on Amazon Prime if anyone is interested.

I think there have already been two (very short) seasons of the cartoon. Don’t know if they’re planning to do any more.

It has all the original cast, except for Janet “Emma” Wright, who passed away several years ago.

Corrine Koslo, who does Emma now, does a pretty solid impression of Wright, though.

Mike O’Brien, who played Wes Humboldt, also passed on, but they didn’t recast Wes, they wrote the B-plot of an episode around his death. (Rum Punch, from season 1.)

And CTV’s renewed it for a third season, to air next year, though I don’t know when it’ll make it to the US.

That’s right, I forgot about Wes. :frowning:

Now Dog River also has a statue of pioneer woman Jane T. Wright. When it was suggested that Emma (Corrine) portray her at the annual Dog River Day celebration, she replied “Oh, I could never fill her shoes!”

I just finished the 2nd season a few days ago. The cartoon is very well done. Some interesting 4th wall breaks and more guest cameos from Canadians that are unknown to us in the US.
