I can’t remember the last time you’ve posted anything remotely substantial.
When you first got here, things didn’t look too promising. You had a pretty myopic view of the world and it has been our experience that people with views that narrow are much less open to questioning their beliefs and adapting them to the introduction of new facts than people who start off with broader views of teh world.
You proved to be more adaptable than most would have guessed, its not the usual chain of events. The usual chain of events is that people can’t handle the truth so they resort to pprohibited behaviour and run off to someplace where their views will be confirmed by people who have the same views.
I think it says something when you need a policy about pit threads about you. He’s either doing something very wrong or something very right. maybe a bit of both?
Drunky made some pretty well informed posts in the gun debate. Its one of those areas where the conservative side of the argument is generally better informed than the liberal side.

If you think of Der Trihs as having a very specific form of Tourette’s, his posts are mostly intelligent and well thought out. Shame about the Tourette’s, though.
Cornopean, on the other hand… hey, guys, he just wants some sympathy. He’s clearly feeling very oppressed when called on his support of the oppression of others. Isn’t that what we all want? :smack:

IOW, we don’t hate you now. It was nothing personal, but you were a bit of a moron once upon a time. But as a friend once said, you add five years and you’ll get a little older.
It was an excellent experiment, but you need a longer time series. Der has always had a mix of readable and batshit insane posts, but the proportions have shifted over time. He’s also adapted somewhat to Jon Chance rules. Similarly he is the only person in the history of civilization that I know of who has been observed to be unintentionally and intentionally humorous. Usually it’s one or the other.
On cornpean, it’s always diverting to see fundamentalists consistent misapplications of gospel. Jesus blesses the meek, so Fundis proclaim their meekness with trumpets. Jesus comes to the aid of those in trouble, so Fundis claim to be victims, turning their heads and cheeks away from the actual recipients of violence in the OP. I don’t have a problem with Christianity. I do have a problem with phonies. As did Jesus, as red letter quotes in the gospel attest.
Sheesh he was all of 13 at the time. Lighten up.
