If USA doesn’t come together this time forgetting their political differences ( republicans and democrats ) to take down China’s evil CCP, with Europe and India ( I am praying for that) supporting the US, it will be a pity…
It always makes me nervous when people say “stomach acid will kill it!” Because I, like many people, take proton-pump inhibitors (Prilosec / Omeprazole) to treat chronic gastrointestinal issues.
(And if you’re thinking you’re not supposed to take it long term - I fall under the “unless directed by a doctor” clause.)
Why yes, Amazon does have bodybags. About $70.
“Only 2 left in stock - order soon.”
Yes, historically, the bestest way to get the world out of a world wide depression is, of course, a world war.
CMC fnord!
- Not an armed conflict.
- Not now, once the world gets out of coronavirus troubles.
The fact is
- China covered up this disease, number of dead people, the whistleblowers etc.
- Sent their people to other countries knowing fully well that they will be the carriers of this virus
What the world needs to do - Keep aside political differences (Republican vs democrat)
- Build consensus internationally against CCP, expose their lies.. make them accountable for the loss of lives and for the economic damage
I considered that but am skeptical given the description of the speed of the attack. Granted, the media isn’t great at balance and likes to take the most dramatic example as a case study, but my expectation would be that it would take a younger person significantly longer to become gravely ill than an elderly person or a person with respiratory issues. Most likely, they wouldn’t ever become gravely ill, they would just feel real real bad. To have any significant numbers coming in or have any significant number going full through to being put on a respirator seems unlikely without there being an underlying respiratory issue.
And there’s no reason to think that young men in other countries are somehow all that much smarter than American.
If you search for toilet paper on Amazon, at the bottom of the filters on the left (on desktop), you are given the options, “New” and “Used”.

Keep politics out of this forum, and especially out of breaking news threads.
So what exactly is California doing so much better than other states? I haven’t been following them closely, but they don’t seem to have reacted any more strictly than other states with much worse numbers per capita. Have they just gotten lucky somehow?
a) We shut things down a few weeks before other places.
b) The tech industry is strongly telecommute friendly so many of the large companies sent everyone home a week or two before the state even took any action (particularly in Seattle and Silicon Valley).
c) Probably, the virus started on the East Coast before the West Coast, but we discovered it on the West Coast as it was just starting there. (IMHO)
Also we are more spread out, even in big cities and our single car culture.
The world hits 1,000,000 confirmed cases:
In actuality of course there are many more.
And with exponential growth, every single day makes a big difference.
Worldometer: total cases now over 1,000,000
ETA: ninja’d. Didn’t see there was a new page.
Amazon partners with SXSW Film Festival; the festival is going online late this month!

I think this is very cool and will be a welcome diversion for many people.
I sure hope that lucky customer got the confetti and balloon drop treatment.
The UK’s Nathional Health Service has told foreign health care workers who were scheduled to be kicked out of the country because of Brexit and expiring visas, that they can stay till the coronavirus is over. So in other words, “Get out, but not till you’ve taken care of us.”
I keep hearing about these cruise ships and keep wondering
WHY, WHY IN OG’S NAME ARE PEOPLE STILL TAKING CRUISES???
To be fair, many (all?) of them started right before the shit hit the fan and when the State dept told people not to go on cruises. That being said, people are loathe to risk any money no matter what, and at that point it was not yet clear the whole industry was about to shut down and become generous with refunds.
