Couch time with Oprah.

This certainly won’t hurt Oprah’s ratings.

I should add that I’m a fan of cycling and for a very long time I’ve been a fan of Armstrong as well. He really made many of the tours he won exciting to watch. But this kind of forum… it’s more than he deserves now. But I’m going to watch it anyway. Out of morbid fascination if nothing else.

Well, few surprises in Lance’s admission but it was fascinating to watch him answer the questions. It’s obvious that he feels he has no other option but to come clean (as it were), but I sense he’s trying to launder his karma with his new found honesty. I don’t get a strong sense of remorse and humility as much as him using this in an attempt to reframe his story and find a way to continue to feed his huge ego.

Is this classic psychotic behaviour? Seems that way to me.

Still, I get the feeling he’ll manage to pull this off given how much America loves to forgive its deeply flawed heroes. Nothing better than a come-back story, eh?

Yep, the whole time I was imagining the coaching sessions between him and some PR expert.
