Could a 'closed' Facebook page be hacked?

Some of my co-workers and I share a closed FB page where we gossip and bitch about other workers and the management of the company. As we all telecommute, I guess it serves much the same purpose as a water-cooler in the staff kitchen!

Now a couple of incidents in recent days have led me to believe that management is privy to some of the stuff that has been posted. While it could be terribly coincidental, it seems strange that (on two separate occasions) mere minutes after I posted some gripes disparaging a particular supervisor, the supervisor was on the phone to me wanting to clear things up. :dubious:

So there’s three options. First, it could be a coincidence. Second, one of my co-workers could be a damned dobber.

But I’m curious as to whether hacking a FB page is possible? There’s some very clever IT people in the company and I certainly wouldn’t put it past management to have directed them to seek out our activities online.

TL/DR Am I being uber-paranoid, or do you think it’s possible to eavesdrop on a closed FB page?

I think anything can be hacked, but I’d put my money on a coworker with a big mouth.

Do any of you do it from company computers? That could be the source of the leak.

No, all our hardware is privately owned. But we do use company software.

Yeah, I’m guess they pressured someone to sell out and give access.

Post something that’s not true and see how it gets back to you.

The particular supervisor who called you is probably best buds with one of the members of the group who immediately forwards him everything about him. Simplest explanation.

(Bolding mine)

I suspect they could monitor pretty much anything you do on that computer if they were so inclined.

Have you ever tested the fact that it’s closed? Sent a link to someone who is not in the group but has a FB account, to see what they could see?

I actually withdrew myself from the group yesterday, so just tried to see if I could access anything now. Nada. Put the name of the group into the FB toolbar, and nothing displayed on the page. In fact it’s a ‘secret’ group, not just a closed group.
