Could I revive a thread to save it?

I know many older threads are missing. Could I copy and paste one that might be worth keeping 'til I can download it safely? Mom's Day (long and awful) - The BBQ Pit - Straight Dope Message Board

You can save if for your own reference but please do not copy it back on to the board without express permission.

If everybody starts doing that it’ll just mean more old posts will have to be removed, it’s truly counterproductive.

Thanks, I’m still worried about the legality of keeping other folk’s posts. Or is it up to the Reader now? It used to be a two page thread.

As long as you don’t publish it somewhere – like put it on a website or copy it to a blog, something like that – you should be fine. You can save it for your own personal private use, that’s okay.
