Could it be possible that homosexuals are really athesist

Well, yes, and then there’s the bit about only praying in your closet. But, the Bible also does tell Christians to preach the Word to all the world, don’t hide your light beneath a bushel, etc., etc.

I think Jesus may have been conflicted on certain points.

Because ick.

No, no, other way 'round, atheism is crypto-gayness! Real men love Jesus! Physically!

“Come in, there’s plenty of room . . . I just don’t understand it . . .”

Preaching is quite a different task then praying.

After I read that I passed gas… was that the sin escaping or should I be worried?

Therefore, all drinkers are atheists. Q.E.D.

That’s only a sin if you’re a Slitheen.

Yes, they are. “for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”.
But not because they’re gay.

Jesus, take the gearknob!

Ok, but they must turn away from their sin right? They can’t just willingly continue to have homosexual sex and think they are going to get into heaven can they?

As long as you don’t blow a Seal.

Without rehashing a 30-year-long argument that I only know part of: yes, because, not being literalists, they view the Bible’s dicta against homosexuality as part of an ancient cultural bias on the part of human society, rather than a God-given edict. They point (a lot) to the scientific studies that indicate (but, AFAIK, haven’t been definitively proven) that some people are born gay, that their brain chemistry is such that they are wired that way.

The Bible is against fornication, straight or gay. The Bible says nothing directly against gay marriage. One can easily assume that any and all slams against gay sex in the Bible are just special cases of the anti-fornication rule, not anything specific against gay sex in general.

Anyway, does the OP also assume that anyone who wears clothing made of two different materials are atheists? How about a cheeseburger eater? And of course lobster eaters are the worst atheists of all.

And overeaters.

So Heidi Klum’s going to Hell?

I hope so!! Maybe i could get meet her.

The OP’s posting style, and spelling out “y’all” …?? Makes me suspicious.

Are vegans especially religious because they never violate any of the dietary laws?

I find the original post to be stupid and offensive. An idiotic attack on atheists, gays and lesbians, and thinking believers. The Bible says over 3000 times to help the poor and heal the sick. Focusing on the anus of others is not really mentioned. You think being gay is a sin, then don’t do it. You want to be a good Christian, then help the poor and heal the sick and stop ignoring that message.

None of the quotes from the bible condemn homosexuality, unless you include fornication (which is having sex with anyone you’re not married to) … but many gays would love to get married.

How do you pick which parts of the Bible to heed and which to ignore?

The clearest citation against homosexuality is in Leviticus – right near where it tells how much to pay for a slave, that witches should be burned, that women must cover their heads in church, and that women must not cook for men during their periods. (My wife wants to start adhering to that last one.)

Just how do you pick and choose? What’s the logic behind it?

And can you find any actual references against homosexuality in the Bible? Other than the one above, where it says (even in original languages) “man lie with man” (and ignores women lying with women, so that’s OK?) … other than that one, most simply use the term “sodomy”, which isn’t clearly defined anywhere, and is ambiguous even in the original language.

When you’re interpreting these phrases in the Bible, do you consider what it meant in the original language? Or do you assume some particular translation was guided by God? How do you pick which one? Or do you just take your preacher’s word for it, and ignore what the Bible actually says?
