Could Somebody ID This Song For Me?

I heard this song on the radio a couple months ago, and really liked it. It seems to me the DJ identified it as a Red Hot Chili Peppers song, and it did sound like RHCP, but if it is, I can’t find anything they’ve released that it’s on. The chorus contains the line, And when I find my peace of mind, I’m gonna give you some of my good times, or something to that effect.

If this is in fact the Chili Peppers, could somebody please tell me what CD it is from (I have One Hot Minute, By the Way and Californication, it’s not off of those), or, if it’s not, re-identify the artist for me? It’s been bugging me for quite some time.

Thanks a lot.

It is indeed the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The song is “Soul to Squeeze.”

As far as I know, “Soul to Squeeze” has never been released on a compact-disc album. It was released abroad as a single in 1993, along with “Nobody Weird Like Me”; and by itself in an extended-play version in 1998.

Wasn’t this song on the “Coneheads” soundtrack?

You’re right, it was. Serves me right for thinking only about the band’s own albums.

Oh, God, I think I actually have to buy the Coneheads soundtrack.

Anyway.

Thanks very much for the ID, guys.
