Could Trump actually run and win in 2024?

Trump might stew in his own juices for the next three years, but he is not someone that makes a plan and follows through. To think that he has a strategy mapped out in advance is wrong. Trump says whatever pops into his head at the moment. He riles up a crowd, sees what direction they’re going, and then claims that he was already there before them.

I don’t see how anyone can look at Trump’s efforts to politicize and weaponize the DOJ to declare the election results invalid and feel confident that the kind of liberal democracy that we have now will hold up. Not when the Republicans start drawing the districts in their favor.

While the obstruction with justice is new, gerrymandering by both parties has a long and salacious past.

There are many reasons one might support Trump. Many are people passionate about one issue (tax, immigration, stacking the court, Israel, guns, religion), some feel ignored (the uneducated), some enjoy his sociopathy (the trolls) or his ability to “say the things no one says” (those lacking compassion).

A bigger problem is those who make Trump into what he is not - “Someone who cares deeply about folks like me” or “A deeply religious man”. Y’think?

Could he run & win? I hope so, he was right on so many things; immigration, closing down of the disgraceful camps in Syria where women & children are being held without a future & one of the first world leaders (if not the first) to state that the covid epidemic originated in a Wuhan laboratory which is now the accepted truth.

And when Covid hit US shores he did Great Job of containing it, right?

Then went into the Alps and fought grizzly bears and used his magical fire breath and saved the maidens fair. Then traveled through time to the year 3010 and fought the evil robot king and saved the human race again.

I read newspapers but do not recall when Trump gave Syrian woman and children an improved future. I hope you don’t mean this:

Fallout from President Trump Syria withdrawal

Sometimes U.S. withdrawal from conflicts we prolong is the least bad of horrific options. But I wouldn’t claim Biden is giving women and children a better future in Afghanistan. Do you have articles where Syrian women explain how DJT gave them back their futures?

This is simply not true.

Oh, I didn’t mean he would plan anything, I meant he would spend all day every day thinking about all the people, places and things that caused him to be the victim of the greatest crime in history as he stokes his anger with right wing media. He’s done with the marijuana of Fox, he’s moved on to the hard stuff —OANN for TV, garnished with news stories from Just The News, PJ Media and The American Conservative. I’m not guessing, he retweets (or whatever retweeting is called when you can’t get a Twitter account, he posts links on his sad little website) this stuff constantly.

By 2024 his entire thought process will be subsumed by words and phrases implanted by these media outlets that randomly break through his consciousness and consume his brain…. “Italy!”— Italy switched votes for Biden— causing him to rail about the revenge he will seek against Italy and hinting that if he is re-elected he will seek revenge on Italy. Then Italy will fade and “Mitt Romney” will be next in the line-up, and he’ll rail about the revenge he will seek against Mitt Romney if he’s re-elected. Then he’ll be done with Mitt as he remembers that Dominion rigged the election against him, and he’ll rant about avenging the wrong they did him if he’s reflected. Then onto Pence……there are dozens if not hundreds of targets, he can go on for hours!

If he runs in 2024, this will be the sum total of the content of every speech, rally and debate. It will be his entire policy platform. He will literally do nothing during the campaign except rant insanely about election fraud. The kind of right-wing media he’s mainlining is powerful stuff, look what it did to Guiliani. By 2024, Trump will make Guiliani look sane.

The scary part is even if all this comes to pass, he still might win.

Are you accusing Trump of telling the truth? If you are a supporter of his I don’t know why you would want to burden him with something like that.

But here’s some truth: if Covid-19 was a bioweapon developed in a Chinese lab, Trump’s response to it was the biggest gift the Chinese could possibly have hoped for. Half a million Americans dead. Casualties that make 9/11 look like a rounding error. And what does Mr. Truth and Justice do about it? Fuck all. Half a million Americans dead and Trump did nothing. No declaration of war, no counterattack, nothing. He just called it the China Virus on TV a lot as if that was supposed to help. If I was a Chinese bio-warfare general I’d be very pleased with that result and I’d be hoping for him to run and win in 2024 too.

Jan. 6th excepted.

“Guys? Guys? Call me when you’ve hung Mike, and some of those others, and I can go back to the Whitehouse for some big macs, mkay?”

I practically did a genuine laugh-induced spit-take at that reference. Thanks so much for the nostalgic callback.

I just can’t take these people seriously any more. Even though it’s very serious

Tell me about it.

We simply must begin ShitGibboning them. Use Individual-ONE’s own playbook: “That’s some dangerously stupid bullshit, and you are a loathsome fuckwit for even suggesting it.” They need their own fæces thrown back in their faces.

Yeah although isn’t the response just going to be some version of “no yu”? I doubt it gets anyone anywhere.

Ok, perhaps I was naïve or oversimplifying. You preface the “you damn fuckwit” part with exactly the minimum amount of genuine substance needed to make any defensive retort look weak and defensive. This will take some training, for all the non-Rs, in order to be able to just roll these slaps right off the cuff, so we had best be getting on this like yesterday because we only have a few short months to get on mastering the intelligent slapdown.

The Atlantic got this question and dug up a 1936 quote, not about Trump:

Gym Jordan was quoted yesterday in Iowa, a quote he later denied, that Trump will be announcing his candidacy “any day now.” Now, Jordan generally has only a fleeting acquaintance with the truth but I think that Donald will use his “candidacy” as a way to pressure Twitter into reinstating him. Not only does he desperately miss the adulation and attention to his blurpfarts from the golden toilet but not being on Twitter is probably hampering the overall grift effort.

“Trump will campaign on a plank that the 2020 election was stolen from him.”*
