Okay. I’m arriving at O’Hare shortly after 12. I think–please correct me if I’m wrong!–that manny is getting in sometime around the same time as me. If it’s okay with Superdude, I’d be happy to wait for Hama there. Seriously, that is NOT a long wait, and I’ll call that one a Karmic Payback too, for the pleasant company given me at LaGuardia by UncleBill & thinksnow. :smiley:

Also, I think–and again, correct me if I’m wrong–Euty is arriving at O’Hare, but I cannot remember the time. Maybe a gaggle of us could greet him, if he wants?

How 'bout if we do drinks Friday afternoon at the Embassy when all of you O’Hare arriving people arrive? I know we have a bar, I think the Doubletree just has Gibson’s which is kinda on the expensive side.

FWIW, I will probably also bring my laptop but I don’t normally drag along the bottom portion which houses the CD and floppy drives. If I think of it I’ll bring it along this time just in case.

I want to see Zyada’s belly dancing performance. I guess that makes me an attention voyeur.

I’ll leave Cincinnati about 3 or 4 pm, which I think should get me to Chicago about 8-9 pm. Can someone leave info at the Doubletree on where to find you all by then?

Also I’ll be bringing some Swiss chocolate bars if there are still some left by then.

Okay folks, I’m coming into town via Amtrak on Friday afternoon. I would be extremely grateful if somebody would volunteer to meet me at Union Station at 5 p.m., and then drive me out to the Doubletree near O’Hare.

Please? Pretty please? I’ll chip in for gas.

My flight’s supposed to arrive at O’Hare at 5pm. Superdude has graciously agreed to be my welcoming committee (but I wouldn’t mind other happy faces). I’d be willing to hang around the airport s’more to welcome other travelers, too.

WHO NEEDS TO BE PICKED UP FROM OHARE?

As I am currently STILL unemployed, I should be free all of Friday to do airport runs as I only live about 10 minutes from O’Hare.

If you need a ride, please send me an email with your Doper name, IRL name, flight info and anything else you think I need to know about you.

Hopefully, I can coordinate something so I can pick up a whole bunch of ya’s at once.

Ok, so I can’t take a half day on April 5th, but I see that airport people are all gathering out for drinks near O’Hare.

So my suggestion is those who are a)sleeping at my house and/or b) joining us for dinner and the mythical ten, all take the train to my house together (to the Montrose Brown Line stop) I’ll meet you at the train stop, we can drop your bags off at my house…and then go party…anytime after 4pm.

Sound good?

Just curious if anyone here needed a ride.

I’m driving from Lawrence, KS and that’s gonna be a friggin long ass drive. I figure around 7 hours or so and it might be nice to have someone to talk to other than my imaginary friends and alternate personalities.

My route is probably gonna take me through KC, up to Des Moines, across Iowa and then up north to Chicago.

Ender, you’re a week too late! I would’ve happily ridden with you from Des Moines, but I’m moving to Chicago in a few days.

So yeah, porc - count me in! I am sooo happy that I’ll have an actual home to stumble to, instead of crashing at someone’s house.

Could someone please explain to the dumb sleepy college kid, slowly, using small words, just what’s going on Friday night, when, and where? I won’t be out of class until 3:30 (5 if I have a TA session), and bear in mind that it takes me anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half to haul myself via the CTA up to the North Side.
