That coupon searcher looks interesting. I’ll have to check it out.
I wonder how many individual companies have coupons at their websites. I was at the web page of one of the parenting type magazines and it had a banner ad for Gerber, saying you could get coupons there. I don’t have anybody still eating baby food in the house, so I didn’t check it out.
I just got one of those e-mails from CoolSavings that I mentioned before. But this one is a bit different, and lists other discounts and has a couple of child-related articles. It shows an ad for Mastercard, saying you can get discounts through them. The link in the e-mail points to CoolSavings, so it may be that you can only get the discounts that way – I haven’t checked yet. It also has a deal of $10 off a $25 purchase at netgrocer.com. I’ve never tried that site (and don’t know if it serves my area).
According to its website, it fills out on-line forms and remembers passwords for you. If you download it now from http://www.gator.com you will get $100 of free internet coupons (I just double checked–I was wrong before when I said you get 50 coupons; don’t know where I got that from). I still haven’t had a chance to download it yet.
Yeah, I was mainly thinking about store coupons when I posted the OP, but anything’s fair game here. I would like to hear about more store coupons, though, if anybody knows of any other good sites.
Gr8Kat: Let us know what the coupons are for when you download Gator!
I love getting coupons, but end up tossing them when I forget to use them. I’m sure if I valued my time I would lose money just clipping the ones for 20¢ on a can of beans.
The sites are a lot worse than the paper for waste-of-time considerations. I tried a couple and had to give up before I found anything.
It’s not exactly the same thing, but my sister is very into getting free samples. When she finds something she thinks I’ll use, she sends me the URL. I think she just searches for “free samples” on a search engine. Anyhoo, I’ve gotten some pretty good stuff, mostly things like lotions and shampoo. She’s sent me a few for snack foods, but I never ordered them. Sometimes they take a while to arrive (if at all), but it’s nice to get something free in your mailbox every now and again.
Jackamus: The third link seems to be a dead one (unless it’s just temporarily down). Thanks for the others! For those who haven’t checked 'em out yet, they are similar to the ones on chief’s website, though the second one lets you put in your e-mail and preferences and it sends you updates on bargains (so you don’t have to keep coming around to search).
My wife got a list of baby-related websites (don’t know from where; probably someplace local) and I’m checking a few to find links to coupons for baby stuff.
Those are the only three I’ve found immediately. I’m sure if I go through the different company websites, I can find some more (I checked Drypers and they didn’t have any obvious links to coupons; Luvs specifically said they prefer to keep prices low and only occasionally offer coupons).
Any suggestions on other brands to check (baby-related or not)?
If you use formula for your baby, you can join the “Welcome Addition Club” and get coupons and free samples. You can do this in any number of ways, but they also have a website: http://www.welcomeaddition.com/
It’s not GROCERIES, but Priceline also has a Gasoline card now. Using it, I saved about $9 on 50 gallons of gas. It’s free, as it should be. I recommend it highly.
You sign up, download some software, and you’re ready to get coupons and print them for use anywhere, just like coupons you cut out of the paper. And it even specifies that new coupons appear each Wednesday (as opposed to Smartsource, which I don’t think says when new ones are there – you just have to keep checking). I accidentally found the site while looking through Heinz’s manufacturing site, which, in the Kibbles n Bits section, has a link there.
I checked out Beech Nut’s website (baby food) and they have an interesting way to get coupons. You can fill out a form, send back labels from their baby food, and get coupons to use when you buy more:
OK, update on save.com. It’s a little annoying, has to be downloaded and then installed. And the new coupons have to be downloaded every week so you can pick 'em. Plus they don’t just give you a list, but scroll 'em across a 3-coupon-wide bar to pick out.
On the plus side, you get 'em right then, which is better than Smartsource.
The other thing is that these guys are linked to other sites (as I mentioned, I found out about 'em from the Kibbles n Bits site), but they don’t list who they’re associated with. So you still have to find those by just bumping into 'em at their individual sites.
Omni-not: I checked out cyberrebates, and I think you’re right. They must bank on a certain number of people forgetting to get the rebate. I mean, looking at the site, they have CDs for $69! With rates like that, it only takes one person to forget in order to make up for 7 people getting it free!
Anyway, I also found another couple of sites:
http://www.jlyne.com has some interesting coupons, as well as a “donation to the military” program. According to them, military families can use coupons for 6 months past their normal expiration date. So you send expired coupons to them and they can still use 'em. Sounds a bit odd, but who knows?
