Cover songs that should exist, but don't.

Here’s a good cover of “Someday Never Comes” - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94-HvY14BBI

Philip Glass should have covered Alice’s Restaurant.

White Stripes covering Hendrix’x Machine Gun.

Mumford and Sons should cover more songs without big crescendos.

Ever since Stone Temple Pilots’ “Sex-Type Thing” came out in the mid-90s, I’ve wanted to hear it covered by a female singer. I think my first thought at the time was Gen from the Genitorturers, but that’s a little on the nose.

Meat Loaf should cover Taxi by Harry Chapin. I can just imagine him wailing with an overly dramatic symphony behind him “I go flyingggggggg…so highhhhh…when I’m stoned”, sailing from the heights of false drama to the depths of irony when the phrase is completed.

“Just waitin’ for it to come around and around and around and around and around and around and around on the guitar…”

Phish played many classic albums as part of their Halloween sets, such as the Beatles’ White Album, and the Who’s Quadrophenia, but didn’t play Grateful Dead’s American Beauty in a live concert as far as I know.

I’d like to see Paul Anka who did that nice Vegas version of Wonderwall, do a Vegas version of Roy Hamilton’s “You Can Have Her.”

“She never loved me anyway – hey, hey!”

I just thought of one. I’d love to hear him sing “Don’t Worry, Baby” from the Beach Boys.

God bless you and them and James always!!!

P.S. This song would be perfect because James is crazy about cars. Him standing in front of his 1960 Cadillac Eldorado is what you will find on the front of his Sunset Man album.

He should cover Jonathan Richman’s Pablo Picasso, then.

I think Bob Dylan should do some covers. Imagine these:
Strawberry Fields Forever
My Sharona
Hey Jude (I can just hear the Na na na na na na na na part)

I always wanted to hear Clint Black do a tribute CD to Hank Williams.

It would be up to him. I don’t know if James knows that song. I just know that I don’t.

God bless you and him always!!!

I always wanted to hear the Mission UK around 1988-1990 covering Iron Maiden’s Children of the Damned, with a guitar line like Tony Iomi’s from the beginning of War Pigs and a solo like the one from the end of War Pigs.

Roy Orbison is long dead, but he would have done a good cover of Long Cool Woman (In a Black Dress).

James Otto singing Cannibal Corpse’s “A Skull Full of Maggots.”

^^^ That would also be up to him. I don’t know if James knows that song. I just know that I don’t.

God bless you and him always!!!

But do you think he could do the song justice?

I can close my eyes and hear the Georgia Satellites doing a faster version of Rod Stewart’s Stay With Me

Pete Doherty

Castles made of sand

Neil Young covering America’s “Horse With No Name.”
