I looked for an old thread on this but my thread search failed.
I was recently (July 16) making a video recording of a country/western musical performance (Sean Patrick McGraw) at a tiny little bar, and he says that, while they were in uptown New York, “We might have engaged in an activity where you drive around the countryside, get drunk in the back of the pickup truck, and you see cows standing out there in the field, and you push 'em over, and I don’t know why that’s funny, but to me, that’s hilarious.”
He then plays a song called Cowtippin.
So he claims to have done it, there’s the proof. (Recorded July 16, 2009, at a tiny bar in Chatsworth, CA called Cowboy Palace Saloon) As soon as I heard him say it, I thought, “I need to post this video to show the folks at Straight Dope.”
Thanks for posting a link to the column - I had meant to do that in the OP and had totally forgotten. Also, thanks for posting the links to the other threads. They are too old to post this as a reply to them, so I guess it will stand as its own thread.
I may live in WI, but I do not personally know someone who has actually done it… then again, I’ve lived in cities all my life, but still… glad to know it can be done!
