I was on Craig’s List looking for a desk and came on here and saw threads about sex. It got me curious. Have any of you actually hooked up with somebody you met on Craig’s List?
I assume every heterosexual listing is either a prostitute, someone looking to shank me and steal my wallet or some guy with incredibly optimistic dreams that a woman is on her computer muttering “Man, I wish I had a dick to suck… maybe Craigslist will come through for me.”
So… no. I’ve never hooked up with anyone via Craigslist.
I met a lot of dates on craigslist, one one whom I eventually married. We had a baby last week so obviously we’ve slept together, but I met him via the dating part of CL. I’ve never used CL as a place for a random hookup so I can’t speak for that part of it but I had great luck in using it as an online dating forum.

Perhaps you and your wife will have a wacky “Do you like Pina Coladas?” situation take place.
Haha not at all. Not my cup of tea. The curiosity was triggered because the guy I emailed about a desk was obviously a fake. When I saw a post on here about number of sexual partners, I started wondering if anybody had actually met up with a real person on there. I get intrigued by random things.
I haven’t but this guy did. I think most of them are thinly veiled escort services.
I’ve met up with two guys from CL personals. It didn’t work out long term but they were no different than guys I’d met via any other online outlet.
Of course, there are hundreds of scary posts for every sincere one it seems.
I can’t say that I ever have on Craigslist, however after my divorce when I was dating I “hooked up” with quite a few from various dating sites. I was quite amazed how quickly and easy ending up in the sack was compared to when I was younger and dating. I am not sure if times have changed or it is just that I was now dating “older” women (meaning my age, but older than when I was single before) and they were less about games and more about doing what they wanted.
I’ll cop to it. Did it once: half-drunk, half-curious.
Less than 5 minutes after posting (at 3 a.m) I had four responses.

I posted an ad and requested that the subject of their reply be the name of their favorite local non chain restaraunt. I promtly ignored anything that did not include that instruction. I actually had 4-5 replies that resulted in at least a phone conversation 3 of which turned into dates, 2 of which were multiple dates and sex.
So it can be done, you just plan on deleting alot of obvious BS and spam.
Honestly as far as successful dates go, CL has resulted in alot more fun dates than most other sites, just be prepared to use a throwaway email account and delete alot of bullshit.
You = older, more confident, more experienced
They = older, more experienced, more confident, most of the women I date, late 30’s to 40’s have kids, been married, had multiple partners, etc. One more notch in the bedpost is less of a big deal when you have had 30-40 partners vs. 3-4.
My dating life in my 20’s was nowhere near as awesome as it is now at 41.

Yes, I have. Lots of flakes, but I’ve had some good times. I tend to have more luck with the hookup specific sites though.
I met a lot of great guys by posting a couple of personal ads, the last of whom is now my husband. I love Craigslist!

I am the guy. I have no interest whatsoever in doing that. I was merely wanting to know how many real people actually used it for that considering half the stuff on CL is a scam. Didn’t think it would be a big deal to ask.
IMHO, CL is a total cesspool, especially the personals, and the employment ads too. YMMV.
