Have any of our astronauts really admitted to seeing some funny things out there?
No, none of them claim to have seen anything very specific that can’t be explained. But a few have made some rather bizarre claims. Gordon Cooper, for instance, seems to have gone off the deep end, and claims the government is covering up the existence of aliens.
I think that a few of the astronauts have seen things that they can’t explain very well, but none of them (other than Gordon Cooper) have claimed anything of ET origin. Even what’s his name from Apollo 14 (the command module pilot) who did the telepathy experiments on his way to the Moon, hasn’t made any claims at seeing things in ET origin. I heard a discussion between him and Richard Hoagland and he vigorously pointed out that he never saw any of the things that Hoagland claimed were on the Moon.
I understand that the crew of Apollo 12, Charles Conrad, Richard Gordon and Alan Bean, spent part of their trip to the moon dancing to “Sugar, Sugar” by the Archies, wearing matching custom-made beanies (Conrad’s had a propellor on the top).
I know this isn’t what the OP asked for, but I think it may be as crazy as it got.
