He’s not happy, but at least he’s healthy.
I meant ‘I’m happy that Tonka has good health’.
It is good to hear that Tonka is healthy. I imagine that is a relief.
I’ve been hesitating to post this, but if Tonka goes outside I hope you are a little cautious as you don’t know exactly what Creamsicle ate. Or maybe Tonka should stay inside?
I think a kitten is a great idea. When I lost my Max I thought I wasn’t ready but as soon as the two troublemakers arrived in my house I knew they were just what I needed.
Tonka is generally staying indoors on his own accord. He goes onto the deck or out into the front yard, but he hasn’t been out exploring as he did with Creamsicle. Creamsicle was the hunter, and she ate what she caught unless we caught her at it. Tonka’s a bit of a goof. He’s caught a couple/few rodents, but he doesn’t seem to know what to do with them.
That’s good news about Tonka!
Creamsicle, we hardly knew ye. RIP.
Really. Always sad when a beloved pet dies.
I just saw this thread. I’m so sorry for your loss, Johnny L.A. Losing them is never easy, but it’s harder when they’re so young and it’s so sudden.
Your love for her comes through in every one of your posts about her. I’m sure she knew she was loved until the end.
RIP, Creamsicle.
So sorry
Creamsicle was, as I said, the most loving cat I’ve ever met. Mrs. L.A. would pick her up and sling her over her shoulder, and Creamsicle was like a partially empty sack of rice. She had an interesting body. Take a look at the picture earlier in the thread, where she’s sitting on a 4x4. Her spine makes a sharp angle behind her shoulders. You could really see it when she sat up. It was normal when she was standing, walking, laying, etc. It was just as if her front legs were too short and she had to bend.
And her front legs were short. Too short for her to be particularly graceful. When she’d hop down from a chair, there would be a definite ‘clunk’. She wouldn’t fall over or anything, but her short legs made her land heavily.
Given her tendency to ‘melt’ when picked up, Mrs. L.A. thought she might have a bit of Ragdoll in her. Her short legs made me thing there may have been a little Munchkin DNA in her.
The vet’s office just called.
I can pick up Creamsicle’s ashes today.
