Braille is not a different language and never has been claimed to be for the simple reason that it is a tactile representation of already existing languages. It’s a different manner of transmitting the letters used to represent the language. The word “cat” in English Braille is still pronounced “cat” and means the same thing as the very same word written in the English alphabet used by the sighted.
