Creepy filmmakers and their work...

Okay, I’m tired and have had quite a few drinks, so let’s make this quick and easy. And please excuse me if my English sucks and/or I make no sense at all okay?!?

Everything, and I mean everything about Woody Allen totally squicks me out. His neurotic schtick is not cute or funny, and his drooling over Scarlett Johansson sends me straight to the big white phone. No, I can’t quite put my finger on it gag, but there’s somethig about the guy that totally disgusts me.

On the other hand, there’s Roman Polanski. A creep who screwed a 13-year old girl. Yet I am in love with his early movie “Repulsion”. Starring a young Catherine Deneuve, and just wonderfully creepy. Love it, love it, love it!

Is there anyone out there who makes even less sense than me?

David Lynch is pretty creepy, but that’s more outright.

I’ve always wondered if it is really, really depressing to go through real life with the mind’s eye of Tim Burton. Imaginative and fanciful, yes, but creepy overall. Is it possible for him to lay down a work without some sort of psychotic landscape where the set itself is more powerful than any character?

Quentin Tarantino has made some fantastic films about ‘bad guys’, but tends to cast himself as a someone even sicker than the other characters, and much, much creepier. Not many people would write, cast and direct themselves as the sick murdering rapist in From Dusk Til Dawn. It does make me wonder what the fuck is going on in that man’s mind.
