I am in search of some “creepy” organ music for the Halloween season.
I wish I could do a decent job of explaining “creepy”, but hopefully you know what I am talking about :D. Think the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland (but maybe more classical).
Any ideas?
A ha! You want The Phantom of the Organ, by Verne Langdon.
Also check out all the great Midnight Syndicate albums. Not necessarily organ music, but drenched with gothic horror.
Also the Prelude (I think) and Fugue in G minor.
Parts of the Poulenc organ concerto fit the bill (the first samples on disc 2), and is distinctly less cliched than the usual-suspect toccata & fugue.
Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Charles Hart.
