111/6, Samuels still in. As long as he’s still there, this is the WIs game.
What an innings by Samuels!! Regardless of Win or loss
This is a bit tense for a Sunday tea-time I have to say.
Jordan has almost sealed it with that over.
Unbelievable!!! Is this real world!!
For Fuck’s Sake.
4 successive 6s off the last over! And that was Braithwaite!
Unbelievable match…
Heartbreak for English. No shame, you were absolutely great.
Closer than I thought it was going to be. Amazing batting in the final over.
That’s Ben Stokes career gone then.
Fair play. Great batting at the end by Brathwaite. You’ve got to get it done and he got it done.
Stokes will be having a firm look at himself though. The first ball that went for 6 was rank and turned the pressure around on himself. Brathwaite’s finishing from there though - exemplary.
Absolutely extraordinary. That’s how to win a tournament.
Yeah, storybook stuff. And of course, the WI are bringing back the women’s cup as well. If the islands aren’t full of wide-eyed kids swinging broomhandles and dreaming of greatness tomorrow morning then things have come to a pretty pass indeed.
Sucks for Stokes though.
You just can’t allow for that. England played a great game overall (but were indeed 20 runs or so short), just an extraordinary final over from Brathwaite. I don’t think it’s fair to blame Stokes - only his first ball was a poor one, the others were fine - when a thick edge sails for 6 over long off, you know it’s not your day. I believe he has the character to bounce back from this.
Let’s not forget England had a decent tournament overall, with good wins against SA, SL, and NZ. Not many England fans were expecting them to make the final, especially after the first game.
