I’m not sure - but you might be able to figure it out if you watch!
Okay, this proves that it’s an enforceable rule to have a gay male couple on this show, because for the first two series of this show in Australia (called “The Block” here) they had a gay couple in both. Seems a bit of an unusual rule, really.
I didn’t watch the show, but it was the kind of phenomenon that you can’t escape because it’s talked about everywhere you look. As far as I can tell, it’s not about making over an apartment block at all, it’s actually about how each couple end up hating each other and talking about them all the time behind each other’s backs.
I don’t like the old couple. Which means they’ll probably make it to the end.
Dang, I was on the phone for the first 45 minutes, so I missed all the intros.
Looks like a fun show, though.
No we don’t like the old couple. We do like Carl and Kim. But I couldn’t get any information out of my cousins as to what happens.
Well, we like Carl anyway.
Is it just me, or are Our Heroes the only ones in the opening montage who aren’t shown touching each other affectionately? Everyone else is holding hands or has an arm around each other and they’re back to back.
It also proves the rule in America that black people don’t last on reality shows.
Yeah, I noticed that too. (The advantage of watching with the sound off, I guess.)
Not only that, but notice they showed a lot (if not all) of the other couples getting into bed, or out of, or talking in, but not Our Heroes (I like that - I’ll have to tell them about that).
And it was of absolutely no surprise to me that their unit was picked as the one that added the most value.
So, is this show anything like House of Dreams, from A&E?
Well, you know how we gay men value units…
I can’t believe I forgot to snark on the actual condos! Three and Four were definitely the best but I can’t believe that Two beat out One. Those big top circus tent stripes?
I can’t believe that either - those stripes! What were they thinking? I don’t think I like stripes (of any colour) on walls. But especially not in the horrid colours they picked.
I did watch with great interest last night, and your cousins are definitely my favorite couple on the show. They seem to have the right attitude about it, and probably have one of the better work ethics out of all of them.
I’m kinda glad that I’m not a part of that show, because I think I might have popped Rose (the old lady) in the nose. What an annoying woman!
And you’re right about the stripes. What an ugly, ugly room. Funny thing is, one of those colors alone would have been just fine (I kind of like the pale orange they used), but it was just so busy.
Heh - it looks like (from the previews) that Brad is going to go off on either Rose, or her husband. I can’t wait to see that side of him; in all the years I’ve known him, he’s been so laid back and downright “sweet”. I wonder what it takes to push him over the edge.
And you’re right, none of the colours alone were bad - just all together they were nauseating.
Thank you for watching
