You didn’t save the best for last?
I remember getting mini Chic-O-Stics. Loved them.
IIRC the cheap way out for parents was to buy Brach’s. You could mix and match a bunch of candy for cheap.
Didn’t they make a version of these with a caramel layer?
I would love them. I seem to only find Chic-O-Stics in random gas stations in the middle of Indiana. They don’t seem to be super commonly stocked here (I think I’ve probably seen one at Walgreens, but they also occasionally sell stuff you don’t see anywhere else like that violet-flavored candy whose name is escaping me … googles … Choward’s Violet.) A mini chic-o-stic in my kids’ stash would be gold to me. I’ve never seen one.
With candy corn, I can’t even eat one, much less “just one.” Awful stuff.
Candy corn bratwurst I might try for the novelty:
I suspect it’s not even as bad as one might think – just little sugar bombs throughout the bratwurst. I wonder how much the candy corn softens up or possibly melts when the brats are grilled up.
If you want to go all out, here’s a recipe. I read an article a year or two ago that clarified the coloring of the candy corn. How did I miss it?
