If that’s the best you can do Jodi, it is truly pathetic.
HA! Look who’s talking.
Why aren’t you out looking for a dictionary?
Hey Chief Pedant:
I just got off the phone to the Reference desk of the Danbury Public Library.
She quoted from an American Heritage Dictionary, published in 2000:
gullible - easily deceived or duped.
Maybe Random House caved but not all dictionaries.
BarnOwl,
You’re cracking me up here. Thanks.
I did the next best thing. I called a library.
WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA aaaaaaaaah HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!
OMG, thank you so much, Barn Owl! I can’t decide if you’re on the level or not, but I laughed my ass off either way.
Please explain why you hope I’m joking.
Waiting to hear from you Chief Pedant, and you, too, Omega Glory.
Well I know you are now that you claimed to have called a library. Good one.
I could have said I checked the American Heritage Dictionary (published in 2000) in my home, but that would have been a lie. That’s why I called the reference Desk of the Danbury Library.
I’ve made such calls many times - before the internet, that is. Every call I’ve ever made was received warmly and cordially, and these folks always answered my questions.
You’ve never done such a thing at your own library?
Try it sometime. Call your library and ask for the Reference Desk. Then ask your question. You might be surprised how happy they are to help.
This is what happens when “survival of the fittest” is not allowed to do it’s work. All the weird people stay alive and breed.
Good point.
And for that matter we are to be as Christ, and he got seriously spanked. By other guys. Obviously a good Christian man should follow his example.
But I thought that “spanking the savior” was a sin?
