Cryin Ass Republicans With All The Power

That’sCadet Bone Spurs,to you.

OH NOES!!

Sen. McCaskill (D) put up a resolution to keep paying the military. Majority Leader McConnell (R) objected, and killed it.

“Schumer Shutdown” does slip off the tongue quite well though.

To his idiot supporters, that’s all the evidence they need.

It’s kind of like a football team whining that they lost the Super Bowl because the other team didn’t want to help them win.
To paraphrase some Republican about 8 years ago - “We’re the opposition party. We oppose. That’s what we do”
Democrats don’t want to help advance the Republican agenda. They’d rather do nothing. Get it?

Fucking snowflakes.

What country are you from? In the 80’s the GOP conservatives managed to turn the word ‘liberal’ into a vile insult such that no-one wanted to be called that. Methinks you are projecting just a tad.

I started yelling “Lock him up” as the march went past the Trump Parc building and the entire crowd took up the chant. And I had this awesome hot pink hat with a fur band and a huge pom-pom that I bought from a street vendor. Good times.

Its called the filibuster.

The last shutdown was a minority party shutting down the government over Obamacare.

This time a minority party is shutting down the government over DACA.

The only real difference that isthat there was no chance of the 2013 shutdown accomplishing anything. Democrats were never going to repeal Obamcare. This time Republicans seem to be open to the idea of doing something about DACA but they just keep finding reasons not to.

Of course he did because McConnell is essentially and unironically the cartoonish villain from every B-movie you’ve ever seen. He doesn’t seem to have an agenda of his own other than being an obstructionist penis wart. Even Paul Ryan at least has a reason to exist (P-90X workouts and hypocritically eliminating public benefits to people in ned) but the only thing getting McConnell out of bed in the morning is the opportunity to show off his shit-eating turtle snapper of a grin and give the cameras a thumb’s up after engaging in closed door shenanigans to fuck the American public (including his voters) in order please his corporate benefactors.

Even though there is [THREAD=20682368]no practical, ethical, or fiscal benefit to eleminating the DACA order[/THREAD], and the only real reason to do so is to make the xenophobic point that “America is for Americans!” which is just short of chanting, “White is right!”

So decades ago the Democrats are to blame for today’s shutdown because the Republicans are imitating them. That’s kind of a stretch, don’t you think? Political insulting and reviling everyone with a slightly different view began thousands of years ago, before the birth of Christ.

Are you listening to Rush Limbaugh archives from the Reagan-Bush era or something?

Come on, you know better than that. You must be a conservative in liberal country. I grew up in the 80s, somewhat conservative, but by the 90s turned liberal. Around my neck of the woods, growing up, liberals were very much constantly insulted by the right. “Liberal,” as mentioned, was a four-letter word in the 80s. It really is a matter of perspective, here. I sincerely believe that you think what you believe is true. But my experience, it’s exactly 180 degrees the opposite. And I grew up in Democratic Chicago. I can’t imagine what it was like for liberals in even more conservative areas.

It’s definitely not a one side started this type of situation. That is just utter horseshit.

So does “Trump Travesty.”

Barry Goldwater(R) 1964

It’s kinda non-specific, though. Which one?

Schumer says in his meeting with Chump the other day, he actually went ahead and agreed to funding for the wall in order to get DACA funded and avoid a shutdown. Said Chump then agreed to the deal. Then called Schumer later and tried to add more conditions. I don’t think Schumer should have agreed to a penny of funding for any wall, but that’s beside the point. He caved to Chump’s main demand, but Chump just couldn’t take yes for an answer. It would seem that John Kelly, the only other person present at the meeting, overrode the president and made him call Schumer with the extra demand. The White House is denying all of this including Schumer’s acquiescence. So someone is lying here. Hmm, now who would be more likely to be the liar here? Hmm, I wonder.

I think this goes to the core of Trump’s lack of ability to negotiate. Because in his mind, the only “fair” deal is one where Trump gets everything he wants and humiliates the other side.
But sometimes he actually has to agree to deal that approaches fair. And afterwards, he stews and stews and makes himself out to be a victim because he had to give up something, no matter how trivial. Then he paints the other party as the enemy and does everything he can to negate the deal.

It’s a catch-all term for the last year, and presumably the next three, although I think we should be prepared with a backup term just in case…well, you know. Maybe “Pence Perversion”?

Can’t take yes for an answer? Hell, he can’t even accept that he won election without claiming it was still rigged ‘against’ him. He’s not just a sore winner, he’s a vexatious victor who must insist that everything about what he does is the greatliest, most beautiful, bigly important. He’s like a small child who has yet to develop a theory of mind that anyone else actually exists and whose parents indulge his every demand and whim.

Which is exactly what is described in The Art of the Deal. I don’t know why anyone is suprised by this; if you’ve read twenty pages of the book (and there is little reason to read more as it is just repetition and self-aggrandizement, written by a ghostwriter specifically to feed Trump’s bloated ego) then you know everything worth knowing about Trump’s strategic approach to anything: be bombastic and boastful, demand and then deny, and of course, lie perneciously until you get what you want.

I wish I had seen you!! Well done, Ann Hedonia!!

You don’t like the pay the soldiers line? Here, I’ll fix it for ya:
Democrats would rather stand with illegal aliens and shut down the friggin’ government rather than stand for the citizens. True definition of DACA: Democrats Against Citizens of America.

This is squarely on the Democrats. And come mid-term time, I hope that every one of those ratbags that is running for re-election has his face ground in it by the opposition.

Particularly galling, because the Durbin/Graham bipartisan agreement would have passed the Senate, and likely the House (despite the Freedom Fuckers), if only McConnell and Ryan had been willing to bring it to the floor for a vote. Under that scenario, they would have had no problem with the cloture vote, either.

It’s complete bullshit that the Dems – or even moderate, reasonable Republicans – had anything to do with the shutdown. They did exactly what Trump asked them to do on Thursday the 11th on camera: Bring him a negotiated deal, he would sign it and “take the heat.” They did. He didn’t.

The ones who forced a government shutdown are Miller, Kelly, Cotton, Perdue, McConnell, Ryan… and of course, Trump. Expect this shutdown to go on for quite a long while.
